Samuel Havens, BBA, JD
Samuel Havens currently serves as a director for several leading-edge healthcare technology and services companies. Previously, Mr. Havens served as President of Prudential Health Care, a national healthcare company with over $7 billion in revenue, where he was responsible for all health and dental operations. While serving as President of Group Operations at Prudential, Mr. Havens led the company to recognition as the first national health plan network accredited by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA). He designed and built the Prudential Research Center – a leader in the development of clinical outcome studies and consumer report cards – and created a joint venture with Rush Presbyterian Hospital to build a joint provider/insurer partnership in the Chicago marketplace. Prudential HealthCare grew to $7 billion of revenue and 16,000 employees in markets throughout the United States. Mr. Havens received his Bachelor’s degree as well as a Juris Doctor degree from Temple University
Rick Hassett, MD
Rick Hassett, M.D. is the CEO of NovaSom, Inc., a private equity-backed market leader in Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) home testing, with the AccuSom™ Home Sleep Test, the first and only FDA-cleared wireless HST. NovaSom’s AccuSom device and MediTrack® portal provide in-home, clinically equivalent diagnosis of OSA at a significantly reduced cost as compared to in-facility testing for uncomplicated, adult OSA. Most recently, Rick was President & COO of Matria Healthcare, a NASDAQ-traded service and technology provider of health and productivity enhancement solutions. Previously he was CEO of Coordinated Care Solutions, a full-risk specialty carve-out company; CEO of Vivra Asthma & Allergy, a 65-location distributed service provider; and CMO/EVP Operations for Accordant Health Services, following 15 years in private practice and academic neurology.
David Nash, MD
David B. Nash, M.D. is the founding dean of the Jefferson School of Population Health, located on the campus of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, having taken that position in 2008. Previously, Dr. Nash was the Chairman of the Department of Health Policy of the Jefferson Medical College from 2003 until 2008. Dr. Nash also serves on the Board of Directors of Humana, Inc., Endo Pharmaceuticals Holdings, and previously served on the board of directors of Itrax Corporation and InforMedix.
Dr. Nash is internationally recognized for his work in outcomes management, medical staff development and quality-of-care improvement; his publications have appeared in more than 100 articles in major journals. He also has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Catholic Healthcare Partners in Cincinnati, Ohio.
