Chief Executive Officer
Mitchell has responsibility for the business and leads the overall development of the company. Throughout his career, Mitchell has distinguished himself as an architect and builder of organizations focused on bringing innovative healthcare services to the marketplace.
Prior to joining Vital Decisions, Mitchell was co-founder and the CEO of IntrinsiQ Research, a leader oncology electronic medical record and information company which was acquired by a leading private equity firm in 2006. Prior to this venture, Mitchell was the President of Datamonitor, Inc, an international healthcare market advisory firm, and management consultant with Deloitte Consulting. Mitchell holds an engineering degree from Rutgers University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Chief Clinical Officer
Colleen Marshall, MA, LMFT, has been a leader in behavioral health and behavior change service delivery and management for more than 15 years. She provides direction, vision and oversight of our clinical team, training and quality departments ensuring that our services are consistent with the highest standards of Motivational Interviewing and Values Based Advanced Care Planning practice. Colleen directs the way we positively influence values based care decisions and communication of those decisions with healthcare providers. Through speaking, writing and meeting with prospective customers, she explains Vital Decisions specialized expertise and overall value that our Living Well and Living Voice services brings to the lives of our patients every day. Colleen currently serves as the Chair of Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT, Inc.) which is the international organization founds by the founders of Motivational Interviewing (MI) whose mission it is ensure high quality dissemination and delivery of MI.
Prior to joining Vital Decisions, Colleen had oversight of all staff development, training, development of clinical standards and implementation of the agency’s Electronic Health Record for a large California based Non-Profit Behavioral Health organization. Colleen has over 18 years clinical experience in behavioral healthcare and over 15 years’ experience in management of behavioral healthcare programs including holding Senior Level positions in a large behavioral health provider. Colleen is also a trainer and consultant for other non-profit organizations. Colleen has a Master Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in California and New Jersey, and obtained AAMFT-approved supervisor status.
Chief Operating Officer
Leah has overall responsibility for the effective delivery of Vital Decisions products and services. She is directly responsible for leading our Specialist organization across four nationwide centers of excellence. Leah has direct oversight of Information Technology, Informatics & Analytics, Facilities, and Administrative Operations. She works with other members of the leadership team in creating standard operating policies and procedures to ensure the long term growth and scalability of the organization. In addition, Leah is responsible for development and monitoring of the company’s key performance indicators (KPI’s). She maintains ownership of Vital Decisions strategic operating plan and control over all the company’s day-to-day business operations. Leah led the company’s engagement initiative, which enabled Vital Decisions to achieve significant growth while maintaining the quality and integrity of the Living Well program.
Leah brings a diverse set of leadership skills and extensive operational expertise to the organization; specifically related to Implementation and Integration strategies. Prior to Vital Decisions Leah spent over 13 years assisting organizations with developing an internal foundation that can sustain high growth while achieving operational efficiency. Leah has extensive Project Management Planning (PMP) training and is Lean Six Sigma Certified.
Chief Commercial Officer
Matthew has overall responsibility for sales, marketing, and account management. He works closely with the CEO to continuously identify markets and strategic relationships across various health care organizations.
Matthew has over 18 years of progressive healthcare experience. Prior to joining Vital Decisions, Matthew held various sales and account management leadership positions at Medco and Express Scripts. He has achieved various sales and leadership awards throughout his career and he has been published in Benefits Magazine. He holds an MBA in management from Iona College and a BBA in Finance from Pace University.
Vice President of Finance
Reporting to the CEO Ms. Steuerer oversees the financial reporting, treasury, tax, payroll and benefits management functions.
Ms Steuerer has over 25 years of management and leadership experience in financial reporting and analysis, financial systems implementation, policy and process design and business development. She is a financial operations veteran with a broad background across the healthcare, financial service, and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining Vital Decisions, she was the Controller for The Green Exchange, a startup carbon futures exchange and Vice President of Accounting Operations for the New York Mercantile Exchange. She has held several senior financial roles at Bellsouth Wireless Data, and The Journal Register and was a senior auditor for Coopers and Lybrand. Ms. Steuerer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Scranton.
Director of Account Management
Vince has responsibility for all client service functions, including implementation of the Living Well program. He serves as the primary contact for all customer interactions and training.
Vince possesses over 20 years of experience in account management for Healthcare, including over ten years working with national health plans. Vince has worked for both provider and payor organizations including Aetna, UnitedHealth Group, and McKesson, Inc.
Vince has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Duquesne University.
Director of Quality Improvement
Elaine has responsibility for overall clinical quality. She oversees new hire training and the Clinical Quality Improvement Program, implementing and tracking quality initiatives and ensuring progress towards the company’s quality goals. As a member of the Counseling Operations Management team, she works closely with the COO and the director of Clinical Skill Improvement to assist in achievement of the company’s specialist operations goals.
Prior to joining Vital Decisions, Elaine provided direct counseling services to HIV/AIDS clients. Prior to obtaining her clinical degree, she served as a small business operations and human resources specialist. Elaine has 10 years of clinical experience and 20 years of business experience. Elaine has a Master Degree in Psychology and Counseling and is a Licensed Associate Counselor.
